Hello ken,
Yes, scams are everywhere in America. In fact, the numbers indicate that 66% of all scams originate from US. Nigeria is third with 7.5%.

The details are in this article: <a href="http://www.scamfreeinternet.com/?p=556" rel="nofollow">Recession leads to surge in cyber crime</a>.

They call it selling in America we call it 419 in Nigeria. I've been a victim of scams by buying online stuffs that hell don't make any sense Not close to 5k but its all the same. But all i'm saying is that tahat the harder they try the worst this people get. Just try to be sure say like Trying to call authorities in the country the scamers claim to live or making a thorough investigation b4 sending anything to any country.

The question here in the USA is not necessarily greed but desperation getting into a financial bind that one gets duped into a scam. I was that way a couple of years ago. I did not lose any money nor did I gain any except for fake checks. My bank closed my bank account and my e-mail provider froze my e-mail address. Later when I came to my senses I wrote a book on scams and fraud, titled ' Scammers Among Us Beware' published by Eloquent Books and can be viewed and purchased on Amazon.com. Check it out for it has much info about how to, how not to, what to do if, and who to contact if you do. This just may save you your bankroll let alone your personal ID as well. Thank you.
