Yet another dating scam story.
This one involves a woman of Portsmouth, UK in her 50′s who met a supposedly American through an online dating site called, “Old Flirt”.
He sweet-talked his way into her heart, and started asking for money.
First, he claimed he couldn’t access his bank account from Malaysia.
Then, he was in trouble from the law because his boss told him to carry out some criminal activities.
He also has £2.5M to bring into UK but needed help clearing the funds.
Finally, his kidney failed and needed surgery.
Expense after expense, the woman duly paid the conman until she had lost more than £130K in total.
A Common Denominator
I’ve read about many of these stories now, and there’s a common factor in all the dating scam cases.
That is, the con-artist always tells a story about a large sum of money that he/she will share with his/her new lover.
Which begs the question… Are the victims getting duped purely because they are in love and truly want to help? Or are they simply after the promised money?
The answer’s probably somewhere in between varying from victim to victim, but it’d be interesting to know which end of the extreme the victims’ hearts were.

Hey, I can't view your site properly within Opera, I actually hope you look into fixing this.
I use Opera, too. I know the drop-down menus at the top are lighting up weird. I think it’s an Opera bug. It’s a minor issue; you won’t have any problems surfing the site.
