    Pinkhotstore.com

Call themselves “Electronics Store”, selling computers, TVs, phones, etc.

Very good prices and professional-looking website. But they want you to pay using Western Union to some guy in Madrid called Miguel. No thanks!

Sent me an invoice to my E-mail with a London address on it, which turns out to be in the middle of City University (Really?). The Madrid address for the company looks like a building site next to a motorway on googlemaps. The time shown on my invoice for the order was GMT + 3, which is used by some Middle Eastern countries and East Africa.

    I think they’re quite suspicious.

Good investigation there. It’s likely a scam as you suspect. It’s got the typical Africa/UK connection.

So i ordered from us-dre-beats.com and I didnt think about it before hand, but i cant tack the order, and the “contact us” Link is non existent. I am afraid i have been scammed. I want to cancel the order but i dont know what to do. Do you think the product will ever get here? What should i do?

    • Posted January 5, 2012 at 1:06 am | Permalink

You might receive a fake. They’re definitely not an authorized dealer. I’m not sure what Visa’s policy is regarding debit cards, but you might as well give them a call and see if you can do a chargeback.

Hi, has anyone used or know anything about “software-stocks.com”. It looks too good to be true.

    Thanks…..

    • Posted December 31, 2011 at 12:58 pm | Permalink

They are likely fraud selling counterfeit software.
In terms of prices, they’re not too good to be true. You CAN buy Windows 7 Home Premium for sub-$100 and a bit more for the Prof. edition. MS Office prices look to low though.
Just look for sales from legitimate known stores.

    Hi there,

Recently placed an order with ckwholesaler.com, a supposedly China-based Calvin Klein underwear wholesale company. I ordered size medium, and they emailed to suggest I change to size large as China sizes are smaller. They sent me a tracking #, and have already charged by VISA under the name “chinapretty.com” (which I googled – this is a wedding dress site). So, I’ve tried to search my tracking # and can’t find it anywhere, and am starting to think this is all bogus…As well, their website no longer seems to be loading, and my emails have been unanswered…help! Should I contact VISA to have the charges reversed, or could their website just be “down”? Any advice is appreciated :S

    • Posted December 27, 2011 at 11:10 pm | Permalink

      Hi,
You’re right, the site isn’t loading. From the sound of the URL and the parent site, chinapretty.com, they look like a typical counterfeit seller.
Did they give you a link to the tracking site? If the tracking number looks something like: ‘AA ######### CN’, try checking it on your own country’s postal service site if you haven’t already done so.

If nothing comes up, go ahead and call Visa.

UGH!! I was trying to purchase a mens Northface jacket as a gift but I afraid the site might be a scam. I have sent several emails and have not heard back from them since I made the order. Right after I purchased the jacket I attemped to cancel and they told me I would have to pay 25 percent in commission fees. Not sure what this means? Is this a restocking fee? Regardless they would have still owed me money from the refund minus the 25 percent. Now when I try and go to the website it is like it no longer exists. When I try and send further emails, I receive the emial back saying it is now deliverable. I paid with my credit card and hopefully can be refunded and hoping this wont take several days. Please help!!:)

    • Posted December 23, 2011 at 4:45 pm | Permalink

Which site? If you call your credit card issuer, you should be able to get your money back. Explain to them your situation, and they’ll likely approve a chargeback for you.

    Dear Friends,

Thanks for giving this useful information about the Scam list.

I just got cheated by someone who promised to deliver an iPhone 4s today. The website of this company is mcsslimited.com. He used the same tactic and said that I have to pay through moneygram or Western Union. After I paid him an amount $550 through moneygram which sent to Birmingham UK for delivering an iPhone 4s 16GB, he gave me a tracking number and asked me to check my delivery status in the website – cornwadeserves.com. When I checked the status by tracking on that site, first my package went from UK to France and then to Egypt and then it was on Hold in Egypt as mentioned over there. I think this is a fake shipping company.

Today, he asked me to pay more money because he said that by mistake someone shipped 8 units of iPhone instead of 1 unit due to ‘mispackaging’. Then he says that the goods will not be released unless I pay more money. These are all tactics to steal your money.

Friends, Becareful and Be Safe and do not make payments to strangers through western union or money gram…

    Kind Regards,
    Your Well wisher…

I’ve added mcsslimited.com to the list.

Yeah I found the same site on a craigslist post in Las Vegas, Nevada. I was going to go through with the purchase of a few items that seemed to cheap to be true. So I did some research on google and found this site and luckily the list of the typical scam tactics all matched. The site even had a customer service link that directly connects you to a customer rep and they were really eager to have me make my payment so I knew something was up right away. Thanks for this site glad you guys are out there to help all of us avoid these down right scams.

Check out this web site ( smilesell )
I found it in a craiglist ad in baltimore md. tThis site fits all of what is listed above,How ever I have not found any complaints about them and I have done alot of searching. my trust in this site went negative when they advertised Paypal and then said they no longer accept it and then requested westernunion as payment method instead. I declined to make the purchase. They say they have been in business for 3 years.
Since I did follow through with the purchase I can’t really say weather it is a scam or not. But I don’t want to spend hard earned money to find out

    • Posted December 19, 2011 at 8:02 pm | Permalink

smilesell.com? That’s a scam. Most of the time, you won’t find any complaints online because they appear and disappear fast. Once they start seeing a lot of online complaints, they’ll make a new one.

Anyways, it’s a typical scam, and I’ll add it to the list.

Hello. So i posted a question in here a few weeks ago regarding a northface website and i bought that jacket from northfacecoupon.com, and nothing has arrived. I think i just got scammed. Is there anything i can do to get my money back? And is there any way i can go to the authorities about this and turn them in for fraud?

    • Posted December 17, 2011 at 12:26 pm | Permalink

If you ordered with your credit card, call your credit card issuer. They’ll do a chargeback for you.

As for reporting them to the authority, you would have to contact the Chinese police, but I highly doubt they’ll do anything.

Sometimes, merchandise arrives after a month if they shipped via surface mail instead of air. But I would contact the CC issuer.

Well, i e-mailed them about it, and they gave me a tracking number. But i had to search it on the EMS (which is like USPS, except it’s for China i guess). And this is what i came up with. http:**www.ems.com.cn/qcgzOutQueryNewAction.do.
        Should i believe them now?

        • Posted December 19, 2011 at 8:13 pm | Permalink

That link gives me an error page. You sure that’s the correct link?

By the way, EMS (Express Mail Service) is a system used by most postal services around the world. So, basically, it will be delivered to you by USPS is the U.S.

DO NOT give them extra money if they claim duty problems etc.

*Forgot to mention: More importantly, if it’s a proper EMS tracking number, you should be able to track them via USPS website (www.usps.com). If you can’t, then it’s not a real tracking code.

If you paid with Visa, call them and get a charge-back after a reasonable period of time.
Most of these sites are very new, thus not much information online.

Now am worried that they will still try to take money out of that account? Any info on if that is possible?

100% of North Face sites that people ask about are counterfeit dealers. If you’re lucky, you’ll receive ‘something’. Other times, you’ll receive nothing. You’re also compromising your personal info with not-so-trust-worthy individuals. My recommendation is always the same: Do not buy from them. Too much risk and you’re buying a fake which you may or may not receive.

I ordered a 200us$ item of a chinese site and the money is not released to the buyer unless you SAY so (bit like ebay and paypal system) the website is called http://www.dhgate.com and the item came 5 days later, if you get it send as a sample.

I then checked it worked and all the bits were there and they were, it was well packed and they have the same system that ebay uses ie how many sales and percentage of bad comments and good comments, only use ones on there that have 100 or close to it, the money you pay by ebay only, can use a card but I would not, you will get your stuff and its cheap.

    good luck

Please be warned of Bowtech Limited!
I would like to bring to your attention to Bowtech Limited, who sells mobile phones and use the advert on alibaba.com; dubizzle.com and bowtechlimited.appee.co.uk. They advertise on these websites to make them look like a legitimate trader. I saw their ad from the online shopping website in Dubai, the dubizzle.com. I was cautious and googled the company and the contact person, a so called Alexandre Ignacio. I saw their profile on the three sites, and the person’s Facebook profile and decided to proceed with the purchase though money transfer services, the Western Union in the invoiced amount of USD600 for a iPhone 32G mobile last Friday. Only after the payment I got a confusing email to say that their packing company? made a mistake and prepared 5 units of the mobile and their director is willing to proceed with the dispatch, I will only to pay total amount for three units for 5 units. So they sent me another invoice for 2 units of iPhone. Once I got that email, I realized that the company is a con.
    My research revealed that he picked up the money from his next door neighbor; Sharon Convenience Store, which is registered Western Union agent. And the company address;
    149 STREATHAM ROAD
    MITCHAM
    SURREY
    CR4 2AG
is registered to Anthony Reynolds. The name; Alexandre Ignacio is also a made-up name. So it’s likely that Anthony Reynolds used a fake ID to pick up the money from the next door neighbor. Also the mobile number I was given was never answered and is a MTN number. I googled what is a MTN, and found out that it’s a service to provide UK number to Nigerian mobile user for international roaming.

To date, dubizzle.com has blocked the site and warns people who has responded to the trader; the alibaba.com doesn’t want to do anything to stop them as I didn’t use their website to do the purchase; and the appee.co.uk simply ignores my warning. It’s clearly that the fraudster setup the whole operation to con the Christmas shoppers. I have lost my money, but you don’t have to!

ncere.org ( =ouseall.com) – these 2 chinese homepages I must warn strongly against. I ‘bought’ (payed for) a Sony camera and had ok online contact + mail contact with the company through a socalled ‘Lucy’. I got all papers, the correct bill and a delivery date. And then nothing happened. I took up contact again and suddenly the goods was stuck in the custom system, though I did ask if that could happen. And then they claimed that ‘if I did not pay an extra 480$ for cuctom declaration, the customers would ‘keep the goods and sell it to highest bidder at an auction’. I have not payed the custom fee!
It has been 3-4 months now and I consider the goods lost.

Hello. Can you tell me if northfacecoupon.com/index/ is a legit site or a scam? Thank you.

    • Posted November 30, 2011 at 12:54 am | Permalink

It’s likely a Chinese counterfeit outlet and possibly a scam as well.

THIS is THE ANSWER you all need.

It the website of MINISTRY OF COMMERCE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

    LINK: gzly.mofcom.gov.cn/website/comment/foreign/message.jsp

What this does is list lots of complaints and tells you HOW to resolve them properly.

It also has a list of companies.

More inportantly YOU can send THEM a email or POST on the page above and they will tell you if the company are LEGIT.

    Hey GOOD luck all

Thanks for sharing that site. Maybe others can confirm the usefulness of that site.

    @KVNPark
Thankx for un deleting that post.

Yes it does seem like it ok, but there is a massive absolutely huge deluge of chinese sites that last a year or so then fold, all offering handheld or small high tech diagnostic equipment – yes copies of the original but at a fraction of the normal cost that actually work – Lots of people I know have bought them and been happy.

Its difficult without going there to find a way to check them out, even ording something small does not do it, as they will send it and hit you on the big order.

Anyway thanks again for a place to put it.

    • Posted November 28, 2011 at 9:43 pm | Permalink

I checked out the sites you asked about. I really couldn’t find much information about them. The fact that all the sites are operated by the same company is fishy. The sites are horrendous. Other than that, I really don’t know.

Yes, there are places that sell counterfeit goods and people do receive the products they buy. That’s why I don’t list counterfeit sites on this list; some people WANT to buy fake cheap stuff.

The only danger is that the same guys that sell fake goods can also unlawfully use your personal information and you may end up having to deal with a bigger problem in the future.

Hi I have posted a long post and twice it has not been posted.

The first time it was my error – left in the internet full headings
The second I removed them but it still did not post them.

    Very Very annoying

    Nice Site
Well put together, thanks for the hard work.

    Ok my second ‘first post’

This site(s) are or seem to be all the same company.
They are supposedly based in mainland china and have ‘offices’ in hongkong.

    Info.
    xxx.obd-zone.com/payment.asp
    xxx.uautotest.com/b2b_cplist.asp?catid=544
    locksmith.diytrade.com/sdp/808578/4/cf-4281094/0.html

The first link shows a company with an mainland china address and a hongkong office.
Having google mapped this it does look like a industrialised area and part of the address is 9th building AND the zip points to the ninth building, I know this only proves that its a actual address.

They accept (seem to) paypal, and they have I thing something like 10 different websites all linked to that company.

I was thinking of buying something from them but I am not sure.
Would the british consulate in china be able to supply info on them?

    What do you think?

    George

    • Posted November 28, 2011 at 1:11 am | Permalink

I doubt the British consulate will be able to help you. The sites you have posted are not typical scams we’ve been seeing here. I’ll take a closer look tomorrow and post here.

    Just a little thought.

That list above is not a very big list……..it should be huge…

    • Posted November 28, 2011 at 1:14 am | Permalink

You’re right, it should be HUGE.
I only list what people have been reporting / asking about. I couldn’t manage a full scam directory.

does anybody knows them? do you think that they are scam?

    • Posted November 27, 2011 at 12:04 pm | Permalink

The fact that you received a spam email is a red flag. They let you order from just about every country on Earth, which is a red flag. Other than that, I’m not so sure.

    northfaces.co.uk

Looks like all the other fake Northface dealers. They either sell you counterfeit products or steal your money completely.

can you verify/ confirm if this website is fraudulent? discount-longchamp.com
i just placed an order and it did not gave any confirmation message regarding my order after giving my credit card details. payment is thru payment.95epay.com
i checked my CC company and same amount was deducted :o(

    • Posted November 20, 2011 at 12:03 pm | Permalink

Looks like a typical counterfeit outlet. You’ll either get a low quality fake or nothing at all. That’s usually how the experiences go.
If you don’t receive anything within a reasonable period of time, call your credit card company to possibly get your money back.

recently sent a western union to company in Africa legalsalts.netau.net….after notifying me that they couldn’t accept my credit card….after 2 or more dozen emails back and forth, they asked for more money to cover insurance expenses for shipment. I never sent them the $150 they were asking for, however, never received my original payment of $187 either. This company is bad news…nonexistant.

I bought a camera from that site shoppingauo.com a few days ago and they emailed saying “We guarantee you will receive the perfect product within 3 or 5 days.”
tomorrow will be the 5 day mark i hope it will arrive.
Im not too worried because i paid with PayPal so if it does not arrive i can get my money back.
The problem I see so far is they said I would get a tracking number witch I did not.
Any one receive a product from them.
